Abstract
In this paper, the author examines her long-standing fear using her sociological imagination applying various theoretical lenses offered in sociology, ranging from phenomenological sociology, symbolic interactionism, social exchange/rational choice theory, functionalism, conflict theory, and postmodern perspective. Relating her personal troubles surrounding her fear to larger social issues, she hopes to not only achieve a better sense of the fear in her own life, but also shed some light on issues of fear in society as a whole.
